What Shows Progress in Your Journey of Life?
Here are 7 clear signs of it!
What is Progress?
Progress is a journey. The one that points in the forward direction. Positive changes from a former negative state in your life, work, or activity.
You may find adjusting, difficult when you start school at first, secondary or tertiary education.
There are many notes to copy, subjects or courses to cover, projects and presentations to make and time to study for tests, quizzes, and examinations.
You may become overwhelmed with the weight of all you do. This causes you to feel overstressed and unable to cope with everything related to school.
You may even think of dropping out. Leaving school for those you think it’s best for or those who can cope.
But you don’t know that it isn’t all about understanding all the lessons at once, updating all notes in due time, etc.
It’s all about the progress you make and the efforts you make daily to adjust to school work.
When progress starts in your academic work as you are admitted newly, you notice that the lessons are not that complicated to understand after all.
Getting good grades and downloading those notes is just a matter of time, discipline, and motivation to do well.
Why You Can't See Progress in Your Life?
Oftentimes, you see progress in your life and do not acknowledge it because:
- You assume it’s not progress.
- You think it’s insignificant.
- You don’t know the signs of progress.
- You expect your progress to be as high as a mountain.
However, progress in life is not seen in any of the abovementioned areas.
Improving and becoming better is the original progress.
From there, you get to the top of the ladder of success, the end of the tunnel where there is light, the sky, which is just your starting point.
What Shows Progress in Your Life?
No matter how little they are, the signs are clear and visible, not waiting for a microscope when you progress.
The signs of a wealthy person may be;
- How he/she carries himself, his physical assets like his houses, cars, lands, estates, properties, etc.
- How his family lives(richly).
- Places they go to (like events for the wealthy).
- People they relate with, and many more.
This is apart from the wealthy, who live estranged lives from the public—not wanting people to be aware of their lifestyle.
Now, what shows progress in your journey of life? no matter how slow or fast it seems, just like the signs of a wealthy individual?
7 Signs That Show You Are Making Progress in Life
Financial and Personal Growth:
Let’s say you save #10,000 out of your salary every month, but you start saving #10,500 or #11,000 in the upcoming months.
That’s a way forward out of the first level, an increase in savings.
Growth can be in the form of elevated savings, promotions, good grades, and it is progress.
New Habits:
When you cut down on the level of alcohol, soda, and junk foods you consume daily or weekly, you are forming new habits that are great for your health. That’s progressive for you!
Learning:
When you decide to learn a digital (e.g. software engineering, etc.) or physical skill, it is part of making progress, especially when you have been idle without any skill for a long time.
When you top them up with additional ones, your progress increases.
Good Grades:
When your grades weren’t anything to write home about like the D’s, E’s, and F’s, and you realize the cause of this, focus and devise better means of studying for better grades, then your progress in better grades is evident.
Time Management:
You wake up late almost every day, do not keep to deadlines, and cannot complete your to-do lists, but now you acknowledge the apparent wrong you are doing to yourself.
It made you set alarms you try to keep, even if it’s half. If you tick 50-60% of your weekly goals and try to get to work before deadlines, avoiding procrastination, you are making progress!
Patience:
You have applied for many jobs, but they are not forthcoming, and you think it’s your fault.
Now, you are taking time to get advice from life coaches;
- Build your portfolio with experience from volunteering and internships,
- Tried to establish your own company and revamp your Curriculum Vitae.
You are on your way to getting your dream job, and that’s progress.
Eager to Improve:
Even when you know that you are just starting small in whatever you are doing, you have long-term or short-term goals.
You are trying out styles and techniques to achieve your dream in life. So you are not stagnant; you are on the road to getting the best out of your life’s journey.
Final Dose
Stop feeling down whenever things don’t go as you planned. Remember that you put your effort into it, whether good or bad. It all shows progress.
You are learning, and so long you seek ways to improve non-stop, you are progressing.
